Avalanche & Navigation Awareness - 1 day
Practical and intensive course combining avalanche awareness and evaluation training with your existing navigational skills. Helps to better inform route choice and decision making in the winter hills. Scheduled so you can combine it with other short courses either side of the day.
Winter Skills - 5 day
Develop an in-depth practical knowledge of all the skills required to move about the mountains in winter competently and confidently. Poor visibility nav & route choice; ice axe & crampons; emergency procedures; avalanche and weather awareness; equipment advice.
Introduction to Winter Mountaineering - 2 days
Introduces core techniques to tackle winter 'scrambling' type terrain, up to Grade I on Britain's mountains. Introduces use of axe and crampons for ascending and descending steep ground; snow anchors and associated belaying skills. Please note: This is not a winter climbing course.
Winter Lead Climbing - 5 days
Develop the technical skills required to lead winter climbs confidently and competently. Covers constructing belays, movement techniques; leading strategies & abseiling from multi-pitch climbs.
Winter Mountain Leader Training - 5 days
Learn the skills to lead groups in the British mountains in winter conditions. The course includes an overnight snowhole expedition. Be prepared for a challenging and physically demanding week.
Mountain Instructor Certificate Training - 5 days
In addition to the remit of the MIA, this award is for instructors working in UK winter conditions and covers all aspects of winter climbing and mountaineering. For instructors leading and teaching all aspects of winter climbing and mountaineering.
Introduction to Ski Mountaineering - 5 days
Introduction to Ski Mountaineering Explore the full potential of Scottish ski mountaineering. A balance of touring and teaching days will ensure you not only get to learn new skills but also have the opportunity to practise and develop them.
Intermediate Ski Mountaineering - 5 days
Once we have covered the same elements as the two day course we will have much more time to put them into practise, refining and improving them as we go. The additional days enable us to experience the best ski touring Scotland has to offer.
Winter Climbing - 5 days
Develop an in-depth practical knowledge of all the winter climbing skills required to second a variety of winter climbs at Grade II+. Having five days allows more time on climbing techniques for a variety of winter climb types including steep snow/ice/mixed.

Introduces core techniques required to move about the mountains in winter. Although prevailing conditions will decide the key focus, techniques covered will generally include use of axe and crampons; basic winter navigation; basic avalanche and weather awareness.

Introduces you to the core winter climbing techniques, whilst seconding a variety of winter climbs, such that you will be a competent and reliable second.
Ski Surgery Weekend - 2 days
Each day we will organise a number of different clinics, allowing you to select those relevant to you including Alpine skiing skills, avalanche awareness, planning & nav, steeper slopes & glacial travel. Off-piste skiers and telemark skiers are welcome.
