DETAILED INFO

AIMS

During this 5 day course, we’ll aim to paddle a range of grade 4 rivers on the West Coast of Scotland. We’ll make time to look at safe river running strategies, white water safety and rescue as well as developing your personal paddling on grade 4 white water.

PRE-REQUISITES

At least 10 days paddling on Grade 3/4 rivers.

A reliable white water roll.

IS IT FOR ME?

This course is geared for the white water paddler who’s looking to get stuck into some grade 4 rivers.

If you’re comfortable on grade 3, with some experience of grade 4 and want to experience the rivers of the West Coast of Scotland, this is the course for you.

CONTENT

The West Coast of Scotland offers some of the best white water paddling in the UK. On this non-residential course we’ll be seeking out lots of grade 4. That could include sections of the Roy, Spean, Pattack, Orchy, Etive, Coe, Gloy, Arkaig, Garry or Moriston.

Whilst paddling as many rivers as possible, we’ll spend some time working on your personal paddling, strategies for safe river running and rescues. We hope that you’ll leave the course feeling confident to safely paddle a similar grade of river with friends.
