CONTENT

This two day course takes the content from the BCAB Core Coach Training applies it in canoes and kayaks on sheltered water. The course looks at the range of different topics we might need to coach. We can think about setting tasks and observing to choose what to coach. We’ll look at how to get the most from the environment; developing skills in simple places before testing them in the conditions. We’ll spend time coaching at a fixed spot where paddlers can have multiple goes; we’ll also look at how to coach as part of a sheltered water journey.

Threaded through all that will be how we manage safety, where to position ourselves and how to remain true to our own coaching beliefs.

You’ll leave the course with lots of ideas and a detailed plan to help you progress to assessment.
